Biography:

Hugh M. Fletcher, Jr. was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Fletcher graduated with from the University of Florida with a Bachelor degree in 1965 and law degree, Juris Doctorate, in 1968.

Mr. Fletcher was promoted rapidly in Public Defender Office from Trial Attorney, Division Chief, Supervisor of County Court, and finally to Chief Assistant Public Defender in 1976. Mr. Fletcher then served as a judge from 1976 to 2000. During his tenure he served as Circuit Representative, District Vice-President and Chairman of the Criminal Rules and Procedure, as well as serving on the committee that drafted and published the Standard Jury Instructions for Misdemeanors.

Mr. Fletcher joined Robert Shafer and Associates in 2001 where he uses his years of experience to defend the rights of those accused of a crime.
